Kripalu 2010-2011
The Jaguar Path is a training in the use of the yogic science and philosophy as energy medicine. Sourcing from yogic and shamanic traditions, this work enables individuals and healers to understand and activate their innate healing power. It accelerates personal empowerment and balance as well as the ability to help others in their healing process.
Weaving the Inca trilogy, Serpent, Jaguar, and Condor, with the yogic approach of Body, Mind, and Spirit, this work is structured to accommodate the healing process and evolution of all three perceptual states; asana for the Body -Serpent, lecture for the Mind -Jaguar, and shamanic journeys for the Soul -Condor.
Yogis and shamans are one and the same; they are men and women who study the human condition and through their practices become their own teachers and healers. The Yogic path as shamanism leads to the understanding of the world as a matrix of energy and offers techniques on how to intervene in the realms of mind, body, and spirit for healing and enhanced perception.
Six months or more of yoga practice is a prerequisite for participation in this training.

Session 1 April 4 – 9, 2010 Serpent
Setting the stage for our training we will explore the similarities and difference between Yoga and Shamanism. We will study the chakra system, and how they are connected to the endocrine and nervous system. We will learn methods to clear and balance the energy body. We will clarify Sanskrit words such as chakra, samskara, nadi, shakti, karma, and prana. We will heal our past and nourish our future. Shamans are called Wounded Healers because we transform our wounds and traumas into power and compassion.

Both the yogic and the shamanic traditions tap into the archetypes of power animals; as allies, advisors and protectors. We will study the Chakra totem and discover the animals and their symbolisms in Hindu mythology and yoga postures as well as the shamanic way of walking with your power animal. As we move into the awareness of no internal conflict and inner peace, we let go of external grasping, projections, and energy struggles. As Jaguar Path healers we no longer experience life as a problem, but rather walk as part of the solution.

Session 2 Aug. 15 – 20, 2010 Jaguar
In our second meeting will explore three profound shamanic journeys. We will benefit from their healing and empowering process, as well as learn how to lead others through them. We will experience deep Savasana (the corpse pose) coming to understand this posture as a portal to the underworld (the subconscious mind). We will study the next set of Jaguar Moves, and learn how to access Kundalini energy to expand our energy body.
